The Most Common Vocabulary Term Our Students Learned Last Week

For the week of November 10th, here is the vocabulary term that we taught our students the most at Eh Plus English in Vancouver.

Turning Point

  • Turning point
  • Definition: The time or moment that everything goes through a major or significant change.
  • Example Sentence:
    Moving to Vancouver was a turning point for me.

    Having kids is usually a turning point for most people. It’s a lot of responsibility in your life!

We often use “turning point” and “tipping point” in similar, but different ways. “Turning point” means a big change, whereas “tipping point” tells us that the change has been slowly happening for a while, and then reaches a point where it must happen.
